DHR tickets can be booked online at http://www.irctc.co.in or in person at Indian Railways computerized reservation counters nationwide or at DHR stations at Darjeeling, Ghum, Kurseong, New Jalpaiguri or Siliguri Junction.
Each of the DHR trains has a 5 digit train number [link to Our Services]; these and the station codes need to be quoted when booking.
The “Joy Trains” between Darjeeling and Ghum and the “Jungle Safari” between Siliguri Junction and Rongtong are round trips but all other services have to have the outward and return journeys booked as two separate reservations.
The IRCTC website now accepts overseas (non-Indian) credit cards. Simply select ‘International Cards’ at the payment stage.
